Etta Chernoff

Etta Chernoff (Zemel), 90, of Warren died June 19, 2012. She grew up in Newark and lived in Newark and Union for many years before moving to Warren 18 years ago.

Mrs. Chernoff worked for her husband, Lou, and her son Howard as an administrative assistant at their CPA and law practice. After her husband’s death, she continued to work for her son until she retired at the age of 87.

She graduated from Newark’s South Side High School in 1941.

Predeceased by her husband of 58 years in 2005, she is survived by her daughter, Marlane; two sons, Howard and Ronald; and three grandchildren.

Services were held June 21 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
