Estelle Royfe (Finkelstein), 87, of Blue Bell, Pa., died Oct. 12, 2012. Born in New York City, she lived in Meadowbrook, Pa., before moving to Blue Bell many years ago.
Mrs. Royfe was a social worker at Philadelphia State Hospital at Byberry before retiring.
She graduated from Queens College with a degree in sociology and earned an MSW in social work from Yeshiva University.
She worked as a volunteer for a women’s hotline and travelled to Israel on two separate missions helping Israeli soldiers.
Predeceased by a son, Daniel Warren Royfe, she is survived by a son, Randall Royfe of Blue Bell; a daughter, Nancy Karpf of Freehold; a sister, Julia Berger of Shaker Heights, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 15 with arrangements by Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz, Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to National Domestic Violence Hotline.
