Ellen Hersh

Ellen R. Hersh, 82, of Monroe Township died July 27, 2018. Born in Passaic, she lived in Edison before moving to Monroe 13 years ago.

Mrs. Hersh taught at Maple Meade School in North Brunswick, served as a probation officer in Middlesex County, and was a partner with her husband in the Nobby Shops, which were located throughout northern New Jersey.

She was a graduate of Barnard College.

She had volunteered at JFK Hospital in Edison for many years and Jewish Family Services. She also served as president of ORT in Edison and was a lifetime member of Hadassah.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert; her daughter, Nanci (Scott) Dight; her son, Leonard (Victoria); a sister, Nina Izenberg; and four grandchildren.

Services were held July 29 with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellen R. Hersh Memorial Scholarship Fund at Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education (DiAE), P.O. Box 3015, Wilmington, DE 19804.
