Elias (“Lou”) Egeth, 101, of Piscataway died Nov. 25, 2012. Born in Newark, he lived most of his life there, and in Irvington and Springfield.
He was employed as an accountant by several local companies, and earned his degree from Pace University.
Mr. Egeth was a member of the Knights of Pythias and, early in his career, served as an accountant for the Star Ladies, a philanthropic organization in Newark.
He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Lillian; a son, Howard, of Baltimore; and a daughter, Toby, of Marina del Rey, Calif.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Nov. 26 at Francis E. Parker Memorial Home with arrangements by Crabiel Funeral Home.
