Eli G. Katz, 80, of Hollywood, Fla., and Lenox, Mass., died Feb. 12, 2015. He was born in Newark.
Mr. Katz was a pioneer in the use of computers in hospital engineering and facilities maintenance functions with one of the first successful software businesses for the industry, Maintenance Automation Corporation. He retired in 1996. He graduated in 1953 from Weequahic High School in Newark and from Newark College of Engineering in 1956. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Steiner); two daughters, Heidi and Linda; his son, Daniel; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 17 with arrangements by Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, Great Barrington, Mass.
