Elaine Roth

Elaine Roth (Levine), 94, of Middlesex died Dec. 14, 2017. Born in Orange, she was raised in Newark and later moved to Springfield. 

Mrs. Roth graduated from Weequahic High School, Newark, and attended secretarial school. 

She worked in the office at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield, of which she was a founding and lifetime member. She served on many committees and enjoyed participating in the Women’s League and sisterhood. She was also very active in Hadassah and Deborah Heart and Lung Center. 

Predeceased by her husbands, Sanford “Chuch” Kessler and Robert Roth; a son, Jay Kessler in December 2016, and a stepdaughter, Rona Roth Siegel Greenberg, in November 2017, she is survived by two sons, David and Burt (Duane Sisson); three stepdaughters, Cheryl Ross (Harry Plastik), Bobbie (Jerry) D’Angelo, and Lois (Todd) Carroll; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 17 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael.
