Edythe Finston (Heller), 87, of Cranford died Jan. 30, 2015. Born in the Bronx, she and her husband resided in eastern Long Island before moving to Brooklyn and later Cranford.
Mrs. Finston graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in social work.
She was an active volunteer at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Cranford Public Library, and other charitable organizations.
She was a longtime member of Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim in Cranford.
Predeceased by her husband, Harmon, she is survived by her daughter, three sons, six grandchildren, and a brother.
Services were held Feb. 2 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the sisterhood of TBEMC.
