Edward Turtletaub

Edward Turtletaub, 84, of Monroe Township died Aug. 28, 2013. Born in Perth Amboy, he lived there before moving to Scotch Plains and then Monroe in 1991.

For many years Mr. Turtletaub worked as a teacher in the Perth Amboy Public School System. In 1963, he became a school psychologist for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District, and in 1969, was named director of special services in West Orange, where he worked until his retirement in 1991.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and his master’s from New York University.

Predeceased by his daughter, Lee Ann (Al) Schimkowitz, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pearl (Zack); two sons, Glenn (Debbie), and David (May Lynn) eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services were held Aug. 30 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
