Edward Salz
Edward Salz, 94, of Lauderhill, Fla., died Aug. 29, 2011. He was formerly of West Orange and Newark.
Mr. Salz was a lifelong educator, first teaching Grover Cleveland Junior High School and later at Newark’s East Side High School, where he also served as assistant principal. Along with his wife, he maintained a private accounting business for 30 years.
Accepted as an undergraduate at New York University, he ultimately obtained a master’s degree from its School of Education. He was a member of Alpha Phi Epsilon.
Predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Lenore (Krasner), he is survived by his daughter, Carole Dlugasch of Gunnison, Colo., his son, Jeff of Encinitas, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 2 at the Star of David Memorial Garden, Lauderhill. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
