Edward Denholtz

Edward Denholtz, 92, of Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Short Hills and Verona, died May 27, 2012. He was born in Newark.

Mr. Denholtz cofounded Durex Inc., of Union, a contract manufacturer of metal products, in 1946.

He attended Weequahic High School, Newark, and the University of Alabama. He continued his education at Florida Atlantic University up until a few months ago.

He was a member of Green Brook Country Club in North Caldwell and The Falls Country Club in Lake Worth, Fla. He also mentored children at the Palm Beach public schools.

He was a former member of Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston, an active participant in the Jewish Federation, the Morse Home, and the Kravis Center.

Predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Elise, he is survived by his daughter, Enid Denholtz-Horne; his son, Robert; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 30 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, The Kidney Foundation, or Hospice of Palm Beach County.
