Edith Zamost (Rosen) died Sept. 13, 2018 at Greenwood House in Ewing. Born and raised in the Bronx, she had lived in Highland Park and later Monroe Township.
As a girl and young woman, Mrs. Zamost was a concert pianist and opera singer in New York City, performing in such venues as Carnegie and Town halls, and on NBC radio. She served as a piano teacher for the remainder of her career.
She was a lifelong member of Hadassah, rising to the rank of national board member, national vice president, and chair of Hadassah Magazine. She also served as a delegate to the World Zionist Congress.
Predeceased by her husband, Benjamin, and a daughter, Judith Zamost Grossman, in 2014, she is survived by a daughter, Marian Zamost Stern; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 16 at Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah or Jewish Family Service of MetroWest.
