Edith Allen Gale

Edith Allen Gale, 90, of Middletown died Aug. 16, 2011. She was born in the Bronx and lived in Keyport until 1964 and in Little Silver for 32 years before moving to Middletown 15 years ago.

Mrs. Gale taught preschool at Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson, establishing life-long friendships with students and their families. While living in Keyport, she was a member of the former United Hebrew Congregation, where she served as sisterhood president. She sang with her synagogue choir for many years.

Predeceased by her husband of nearly 70 years, Milton, in July, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey of Little Silver; her daughter, Eileen Gale Kugler of Springfield, Va.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services were held Aug. 18 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
