Dorothy R. Weiss
Dorothy “Dottie” R. Weiss (Miller), 83, of Marlboro died May 26, 2011. Born in Chicago, she lived in Brooklyn and Valley Stream, NY, before moving to Marlboro in 1989.
Mrs. Weiss worked as an administrative assistant, blood donor recruiter, and public relations director of social service agencies, retiring from Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Monmouth County.
She graduated from University of Illinois.
She volunteered with Jewish Marriage Encounter, Meals on Wheels, Jewish Family Service, and Centra State Hospital. She was a founding member of the Marlboro Greens chapters of Deborah and Pink Ribbons, and she was 1998 Senior Volunteer of the Year in Marlboro Township.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Philip; two daughters, Adrienne Weiss-Harrison and Claudia; a sister, Carole Barak; and three grandchildren.
Services were held May 29 with arrangements by Freeman Funeral Homes, Manalapan. Memorial contributions may be made to Pink Ribbons of Marlboro Gardens, Englishtown.
