Doris Okin
Doris Okin (Saffer), 88, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Dec. 7, 2015. Born in Orange, she lived in Maplewood and West Orange before relocating to Boynton Beach in 2005.
In her early years of marriage, Mrs. Okin was a homemaker and mother. After her children began high school, she went to work as a florist in Livingston. From 1992 until 2005, she and her husband were the owners of Colours, Inc., an occasional furniture and decorative accessory store in Millburn.
She was a sculptor, working in both stone and wood.
She was a member of Temple B’nai Abraham, Livingston.
Predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Jerry, she is survived by her son, Edward of Greenacres, Fla; her daughter, Ellen (Jerry) Powers of Fanwood; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 11 with arrangements by Palm Beach National Chapel, Lake Worth, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
