Doris Medford
Doris P. Medford (Pinchuk), 81, of Atlanta died Nov. 5, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, she raised her family in New Jersey and moved to Atlanta in 1996.
Mrs. Medford’s professional career began in New Jersey in finance, first as a bookkeeper and eventually as the office and financial manager of a noted manufacturer.
She attended Brooklyn College for several years before her marriage.
She had a life-long passion for literature.
An active member of Hadassah, she and her husband both served as readers for the EIES of New Jersey radio-reading program for the blind. In Atlanta, she was a volunteer teacher of English as a second language to Russian immigrants at The Temple.
Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Jerome L., in December 2011, she is survived by two sons, Russell of Atlanta and David of Morristown; her daughter, Amy Medford of Roosevelt; three brothers, David Pinchuk of Miami, Jack Pinchuk of Dade County, Fla., and Norman Pinchuk of Hauppauge, NY; and five grandchildren.
