Doris “Dolly” Luks, 95, of Edison died Aug. 30, 2015. Born in London, she served in the British Land Army during World War II and left for America in 1950 with her husband, Isaac, and son Stephen. After immigrating to the United States, she resided in Brooklyn, Maplewood, and Monroe Township before moving to Edison.
Mrs. Luks was a seamstress in England and a homemaker.
Predeceased by her husband of 62 years as well as her son Benjamin in May 2014, she is survived by a son, Stephen (Linda) of Arizona, her daughter-in-law Pam of Edison; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 2 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
