Donald Wiener

Donald Stewart Wiener, 82, of Monroe Township died July 27, 2019. Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Trumbull, Conn.; and Queens before relocating to Monroe 20 years ago.

Prior to retiring in 2014, Mr. Wiener was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant for over 55 years. For many years he was also a substitute school teacher in the Monroe Township School District.

He graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and received a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, transferring from active duty to reserve status in 1959. He was honorably discharged as a captain in 1969.

He was an active congregant of B’nai Torah in Trumbull for many years before moving to New Jersey.

Predeceased by his son, Jeffrey David, on Sept. 11, 2001, and his brother, Jordan, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma Rose (Katz); his daughter, Robin Wiener (Roger Nehrer) of Washington, D.C.; and two granddaughters.

Services were held July 30 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Jeffrey Wiener Children’s Library at the Brotherhood Synagogue (brotherhoodsynagogue.org).
