Debra Greenberg
Debra Greenberg (Sokolov), 81, of Cranford died March 13, 2011. Born in Newark, she lived in Cranford since 1960.
Mrs. Greenberg was a teacher at Temple Beth O’r/Beth Torah, Clark, giving conversion classes and teaching in the religious school.
She was a graduate of Rutgers University, Newark, in 1950.
She served as the Consumer Affairs Local Assistance Officer in Cranford, as the treasurer of the Union County Board of Social Services, and as a counselor for the State Health Insurance Program. She also served on the Union County Democratic Committee.
She was a member of the sisterhood of Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim of Cranford and served as singles coordinator for the Jewish Federation of Central New Jersey.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin; two sons, Bruce of Westfield and Jonathan of Edison; and two grandchildren.
Services were held March 14 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim’s Etz Chayim Fund, Cranford.
