David Schulman

David “Dan” S. Schulman, 93, of Monroe Township died June 8, 2015. Born in New York City, he had resided in Edison for over 40 years. 

With his brother Kevie, Mr. Schulman ran the Town Shop in New Brunswick for nearly 30 years. He had a second career in retail at Platypus, originating in East Brunswick, which he ran with his son, Jeffrey. 

He was active in the Anti-Defamation League and B’nai B’rith.

He was a veteran of the Air Force during World War II. 

Predeceased by his first wife of over 40 years, Betty, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Fran; his son, Jeffrey Schulman (Karen Carlson); his daughter, Jo Ann Jecko; two stepchildren, Gwenn Rubin and Richard Sachs; a brother, Alvin Schulman; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 10 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland School in North Branch or Anti-Defamation League.
