Daniel Waxler
Daniel Waxler, 98, of Dover died Dec. 7, 2018. Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, he resided in Dover since 1954.
Mr. Waxler worked as a civilian electrical engineer with the Department of the Navy, the Signal Corps, and the Air Force, including the Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y. He worked for the army at Picatinny Arsenal from 1954 until he retired in 1981. During the next 20 years, he worked as an adjunct professor in the math and physics departments at County College of Morris and as the manager of the physics laboratory.
He graduated from City College of New York with a degree in electrical engineering. He went on to earn two advanced degrees from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marcia (Schwartz); his daughter, Enid McDonough (Roger) Green; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were held Dec. 11 with arrangements by Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph. Memorial contributions may be made to Adath Shalom or Dover Mt. Sinai Cemetery Association, both c/o 841 Mountain Way, Morris Plains, N.J. 07950.
