Daniel Kirschner

Daniel M. Kirschner, 88, of Pompton Plains died Feb. 8, 2015. He lived in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Emerson, and Boynton Beach, Fla., before moving to Pompton Plains four years ago.

Mr. Kirschner was an airport economist for the Port Authority of NY and NJ for over 30 years.

He graduated from Long Island University on the GI Bill with a degree in accounting.

He was a member of the Navy Seabees during World War II.

He was a founding member of Congregation B’nai Israel, Emerson. He was honored for his work with Israel Bonds.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Thaler Kirschner; two daughters, Linda (Barry) Diamond and Barbara (Gil) Irwin; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 9 with arrangements by Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn.
