Dangerous words
Stephen Flatow’s vilification and demonization of Palestinians (“Palestinian kids write terrorist poetry,” Feb. 9) is dangerous and shameful.
It is dangerous because Flatow’s grotesquely one-sided portrayal of Palestinians can only make it more difficult for Jews, in general, and Israelis, specifically, to accept Palestinians as neighbors. It is true that many Palestinians want to kill Israelis. It is also true that many Palestinians want to live in peace with Israelis and actively work to achieve this.
Flatow’s depiction of Palestinians is shameful because he employs the same tactics used by anti-Semites throughout Jewish history: painting all Palestinians with one broad, evil brush and in so doing, denying their humanity.
Jews and Palestinians deserve better.
