LEGENDARY GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Judy Collins will perform at the 2018 South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) gala, Saturday, Oct. 27, 6-11 p.m.

Community leader Samuel M. Convissor will be honored along with Dan Arrighi and Sam Joseph; the three will be recognized for their long-time philanthropy and advocacy on behalf of SOPAC and the local community.

Renowned singer and activist Dionne Warwick, a South Orange resident, will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her support and contributions to SOPAC and local communities.

Born in Newark, Convissor is a humanitarian and volunteer with, among many organizations, the Children’s Aid Society of New York City, the National Office of Social Responsibility, and the National Urban League. Convissor also helped underwrite a series of concerts at SOPAC featuring students of the Juilliard School.

Philanthropists and community leaders Arrighi and Joseph have both underwritten performances at SOPAC.

The gala includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner stations, dessert, and silent and live auctions.

General admission is $300; premium seats, which include a “meet and greet” with Collins, cost $500. To purchase tickets, contact Katelyn Fatzler at 973-712-4102 or visit sopacnow.org/support/gala.

To buy a journal ad, donate an auction item, or become a sponsor, contact gala coordinator Shana Teitelbaum at Shana@sopacnow.org or call 917-414-9720.
