Clifford Bender, 95, of Aventura, Fla., died Sept. 21, 2014. Born in Newark, he lived in Clark before moving to Florida nearly 40 years ago.
Mr. Bender owned the Good Meals Diner in Linden with his father and then Parker’s Luncheonette in Newark before moving to Florida. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Florida prior to his retirement at age 65.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann Ginsburg of Wellington, Fla.; his son, Stuart of Livingston; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 24 at Sharon Gardens Memorial Park, Dania Beach, Fla.
