Claire Zeitlin

Claire Zeitlin, 66, of Princeton died March 26, 2014. She grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, and moved in her mid 20s to England, where she lived for 20 years. In 1991, she moved to Madison, Wis., before moving to Princeton in 2012.

Mrs. Zeitlin taught for four decades in England and the United States, teaching math and science enrichment to elementary- through high school-age students and children with a wide range of abilities.

She earned a BA from University of Cape Town, majoring in history and English and obtaining teacher certification. She attended Homerton College at Cambridge University and received Secondary Math certification.

She is survived by two sons, Joshua and Samuel of New York City; her partner, Nick Katz of Princeton; and a brother, Ian Wienburg, and a sister, Shirley Stein, both of Cape Town.

Services were held March 30 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Doctors Without Borders or Princeton Public Library.
