Claire Rose

Claire Rose (Newman), 89, of Whippany died Oct. 30, 2012. Born in Passaic, she lived in Newark, Hillside, and Chatham before moving to Whippany several years ago.

Mrs. Rose was the co-owner of the Rose Hand Laundry in Newark and also worked for L&C Sales and Cambridge Lee.

She was a member of Israel Verein, Deborah Hospital Foundation, and National Council of Jewish Women.

Predeceased by her husband, Arthur, she is survived by her daughter, Sharon Uchitel of Springfield; her son, Howard of Hillsborough; two sisters, Nettie Lipkin of Cherry Hill and Sylvia Krugman of Little Falls; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 4 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
