Claire Adler

Claire L. Adler (Hutt), 102, of West Orange died May 20, 2013. Born in the Bronx, she lived in Lauderhill, Fla., and Livingston before moving to West Orange in 2010.

Before her retirement, Mrs. Adler was a partner in Adler’s Luggage, Bronx, for over 35 years.

She was active in Hillel in the Bronx and in Florida. She was a member of Pioneer Women and a life member of B’nai B’rith Women. The city of Lauderhill named her “Mayor for a Day” for her charitable work.

Predeceased by her husband, Abraham, she is survived by her son, Myron P. of Sedona, Ariz.; her daughter, Helen R. Black of Livingston; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 22 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
