Chilling silence

The JTA report on the meeting of American-Jewish leaders with Palestinian Authority prime minister Salam Fayyad in Jenin, which I attended (“U.S. Jewish leaders press incitement issue,” Feb. 25), correctly noted that the delegation raised the issue of PA incitement to hatred and violence against Jews and glorification of terrorists by Mahmoud Abbas and Fayyad as well as the clauses calling for the destruction of Israel still contained in Abbas’ Fatah constitution.

However, the article did not mention that Fayyad responded by giving a speech that didn’t address a single concern raised by us. His non-response was chilling and spoke volumes.
