Charlotte Friedman (Sattler), 88, of Somerset died May 10, 2019. Born in Newark, she lived in Newark; Nutley; Hillside; Union; Springfield; Delray Beach, Fla.; and Westfield before moving to Stein Assisted Living in Somerset.
Mrs. Friedman worked for Bamberger’s/Macy’s as a customer service representative before retiring.
She attended Long Island University.
She was a member of Temple Israel of Union, which later became Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield, for more than 50 years.
At the Stein Residence, she served as the president of the Resident Council, and was known as the Poker and Rummikub champion.
Predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 1983, she is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Friedman (Edward Sloan) of Winchester, Mass., and Renee (Geddy) Krul of Elizabeth; a sister, Lorraine Loshin of Cranford; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 12 with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 354 Demott Lane, Somerset, N.J. 08873.
