Charles Turner

Charles B. Turner, 79, of Cedar Knolls died May 10, 2014. He was born in Newark and was a lifelong New Jersey resident.

Mr. Turner was a lawyer who practiced for more than 50 years. He was based in South Orange and appeared in courts throughout New Jersey. For the last 20 years he practiced law with his son Andrew.

He graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark. He received his BA from University of Michigan and earned his JD from Harvard University School of Law.

He was also a musician who played cello for much of his life and for many years with the Metropolitan Orchestra.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; three sons, Andrew, Jonathan (Melissa), and Fred (Deborah); a brother, Leon; and four granddaughters.

Services were held May 13 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
