Celia Glikin, 94, of Union died March 26, 2012. Born in Newark, she lived in Newark and Irvington before moving to Union in 1953.
Mrs. Glikin was the owner and operator of Isidore Glikin Inc., wholesaler of tobacco and candy, in Irvington for 29 years before retiring in 1985. Previously, she was a supervisor of emergency benefits with the U.S. Army in Newark for five years.
She was a volunteer at Ruth Estrin Goldberg Cancer Research (Newark Beth Israel Medical Center) for 48 years, and a member of the sisterhood of Temple Israel, Union.
Predeceased by her husband, Nathan, she is survived by her son, Michael of New York City.
Services were held March 28 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
