Celia A. Zucker

Celia A. Zucker, 94, of Livingston died July 2, 2011. She previously lived in Newark.

Mrs. Zucker taught in Newark for many years but left to raise her family. After her children went to college, she worked as a legal secretary for her husband, Leo, until 1986.

She graduated from Lafayette Street School and East Side High in Newark, received her BS in elementary education from Newark State Teachers College, and earned library certification from Kean College.

She was a longtime and active member of Temple Beth Shalom, Livingston, and its sisterhood, as well as a member of Livingston Hadassah.

Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her daughter, Eileen August of Livingston; her son, Barry of Mountain Lakes; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 5 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Shalom or Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, both of Livingston.
