Carrol Deus

Carrol Lynn Deus of Springfield died July 12, 2019. She was born in Irvington and raised in Maplewood.

Ms. Deus began her career as an executive assistant at NJ Bell Telephone Co. She later became an executive assistant to Dr. Victor Parsonnet at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

She graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood, and attended Newark State College, now Kean University. She graduated from The Berkeley School, now Berkeley College.

An active member of her community, she was a member of the Auxiliary of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Overlook Hospital, Summit. As a life member and past president of Flo Okin Cancer Relief, she worked to raise money for the organization through activities such as organizing theater parties, working on fashion shows, and holding pumpkin sales, antique shows, and rummage sales.

Predeceased by her parents, Vern and Bob Deus, she is survived by a sister, Barbara Reddington of Springfield; an aunt; and cousins.
