Blanche Schreiber
Blanche Schreiber, 94, of Tinton Falls died Nov. 8, 2013. She previously lived in Neptune, Bradley Beach, and in Pembroke Pines, Fla., for 31 years.
In Neptune Mrs. Schreiber taught ballroom dancing to upper grammar school children at their school. In Bradley Beach she was treasurer of the PTA until her youngest child graduated. She started a Hadassah chapter and was its first president and was a member of the sisterhood of Congregation Agudath Achim. She was a past president of the Business and Professional chapter of Hadassah in Asbury Park and later became president of the Asbury Park chapter. In Florida she volunteered at the public library and elementary school to aid first and second graders with reading. As a life member of Hadassah, she joined the Tel Chair chapter and was the Blue Box chair for many years.
Predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Sydney, and her daughter, Barbara Black, she is survived by three sons, Lawrence (Margot) of San Diego, Mickey (Phyllis) of Holmdel, and Stephen of Belmar; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 11 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels. Memorial contributions may be made to 180 Turning Lives Around, 1 Bethany Rd., Hazlet, NJ 07730 or Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, 110 West Main St., Freehold.
