Betty Lebowitz Raskin

Betty Lebowitz Raskin, 84, of Delray Beach, Fla., died Jan. 30, 2011. She was born and raised in Newark and lived in Millburn and Mountain Lakes before moving to Delray Beach in 1999.

Mrs. Raskin and her husband Herbert founded the Cancellation Shoe Store conglomerate, which at one time had several stores in both New Jersey and Florida.

She graduated from Weequahic High School and attended New York University.

She cofounded and became president of the Millburn/Short Hills Women’s Chapter of B’nai B’rith.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years; two daughters, Karen Emin and Jane Horwitz; her son, Andrew; her sister, Sylvia Milberg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 2 with arrangements by Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Delray Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation or Hospic
