Bette Blum
Bette Blum of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Oct. 23, 2014. She was born in Newark in 1937, and grew up in Irvington, moving to Livingston to raise her family.
After completing her teaching career, Mrs. Blum owned a local lingerie store, Gowntown, and later sold real estate and worked in retail sales.
She was a graduate of Irvington schools and received her teaching degree at Newark State College.
After moving to Florida, she focused her energy on raising money for cancer research through the PAP Corps, where she was vice president of fund raising.
Predeceased by her husband, Jerry, and a daughter, Debbie, she is survived by two daughters, Amy and Heidi Blum; son-in-laws, Robert Rubin and David Zubkoff; a daughter-in-law, Michele Donato; a sister, Dorothy Kleinert; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 27 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
