Bette Alexander

Bette Alexander (Lebowitz) of West Orange died Oct. 9, 2015. Born in Linden, she also had lived in South Orange and Delray Beach, Fla.

Mrs. Alexander was a well-known culinary cooking instructor who trained at Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris. She was the owner of a cooking school in South Orange. 

She was a member of Brandeis National Committee and the Schumann music appreciation group.

Predeceased by her husband, Sanford (Pfeferstein), she is survived by her daughter, Loren Alexander Bremmer of Florham Park; her son, Barry of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services were held Oct. 11 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish National Fund.
