Bertha S. Fish (Sheratsky), 92, of Whippany died Sept. 27, 2011. Born in Paterson, she had lived there and in Metuchen and Manalapan before moving to Whippany three years ago.
After working with her husband in the retail industry for many years, Mrs. Fish found her calling later in life as an educator, and taught in Israel and at Manalapan High School until she retired at age 75.
She traveled the world with her husband while he served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
She was an active supporter of Hadassah as well as many other Jewish philanthropic organizations throughout her life. She had a passion for the arts, including theater, ballet, and music.
Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Joel, and her daughter, Esther Frances, she is survived by her nieces and nephews.
