Bertha Leifer, 86, of Monroe Township died Nov. 23, 2010. Born in Romania, she and her husband were Holocaust survivors who came to the United States in 1949. She resided in Newark, West Orange, and Newtown, Pa., before moving to Monroe 15 years ago.
Mrs. Leifer and her husband, Martin, were owners of Marty’s Cleaners and Tailoring in West Orange.
She was a member of Holocaust Survivors of Monroe Township and Concordia congregation.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her son, Jerome of Marlboro; her daughter, Judith Silverman; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 24 at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Memorial contributions may be made to United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, DC.
