Bernard Horwitz, 89, of Hamden, Conn., died March 22, 2012. Born in Newark, he resided there and in West Orange before moving to Connecticut in 2009.
Mr. Horwitz had his own law practice, Bernard Horwitz in Newark, for 50 years.
He graduated from Rutgers Law School and was a member of the Essex County Bar Association for 50 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946.
Predeceased by his wife, Lila, he is survived by two daughters, Nancy Horwitz of Newton, Mass., and Barbara Horwitz of Decatur, Ga.; his son, Jim of Woodbridge, Conn.; and three grandchildren.
Services were held March 23 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
