Bernard Binder

Bernard Binder, 86, of Monroe Township died March 5, 2011. Born in New York City, he grew up in Elizabeth.

Mr. Binder owned Ebco Electric Supply Corporation, Middlesex, for over 30 years.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist’s Mate 2nd Class aboard the U.S.S. Burleigh in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.

He had a lifelong passion for the arts and was a landscape and still life artist whose works were exhibited locally. He also authored the novel Once There Was Aaron, a historical narrative.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arline (Slotkin); his children, Abby and Marc; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held March 6 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick.
