Bernard Abramowitz

April 16, 2017. He was born in the Bronx. After his retirement in 1980, he moved to Florida before returning to New Jersey after his first wife’s death in 1986.

Mr. Abramowitz was employed by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, now known as I.C.E., where he worked his way up to the position of lead investigator. 

He enlisted in the Army during World War II, serving from 1942 until 1945. Afterward, he attended college and then graduate school. 

Predeceased by his wives, Rebecca and Beverly, he is survived by his daughter, Gail Abramowitz of Montclair; his son, Nat (Elisabeth) of Manhattan; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. 

Services were held April 19 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Cedar Grove.
