Beatrice Smith

Beatrice Smith, 87, of Union died June 28, 2017. Born in Newark, she lived in Newark and Irvington before moving to Union in 1964.

Ms. Smith was a journalist and editor for Worrall Publications for over 50 years, handling obituaries, book reviews, and interviews. She interviewed the stars of Paper Mill Playhouse productions in Millburn and reviewed the plays after their opening. She also reviewed shows for the New Jersey Ballet and interviewed celebrities.

She attended Rutgers University in Newark and Seton Hall University in South Orange, studying journalism.

She is survived by her brother, Leonard Smith of Colonia, and two nieces, Natalie Harrington and Carole Smith.

Services were held June 30 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
