Beatrice Kanigel (Wolshine), 93, of California died March 20, 2015. She grew up in Brooklyn.
She earned a BA in English in 1941 from Brooklyn College.
She was active in Hadassah, where she wrote new lyrics to Broadway show tunes for staged musical productions. She wrote occasional sonnets as well as several published essays about her Brooklyn childhood.
Predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Charles, she is survived by two sons, Harry of Rockaway and Robert of Cambridge, Mass.; her daughter, Rachele of Oakland, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held March 27 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Cedar Grove.
