Barbara Leinwand
Barbara Leinwand (Jacobson), 82, of West Orange died Jan. 6, 2019. She was born in Brooklyn.
Mrs. Leinwand was an active volunteer at Bialik School for many years and had a career as a special educator and reading specialist at PTACH.
She graduated from Brooklyn College and received her master’s degree from Adelphi University in special education.
Predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Elliot, in 2006, she is survived by her daughter, Merrill (Perry) Hendin of Portland, Ore.; her son, Jason (Laurie) of Randolph; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 8 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
