Barbara L. Siegel

Barbara L. Siegel, 77, of Florham Park and Longboat Key, Fla., died Dec. 29, 2018. She raised her family in Short Hills before retiring to Florham Park and Longboat Key.

Mrs. Siegel was a learning disabilities specialist and then administrator — first for the West Orange Middle Schools, then for the Frelinghuysen Middle School in Morristown. She was the school’s principal when she retired in 1999.

She attended Douglass College, graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and received an M.Ed. from Kean College.

She was president of Beth Israel Women at Temple Beth Israel in Longboat Key for three years. She was also a member of the Brotherhood Synagogue in Manhattan.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alan; her daughter, Shari (Jeffrey) Siegel-Goldman; her son, Howard (Alexis); a sister, Anne Finger; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 2 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Lustgarten Foundation or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
