Augusta Weissman Jacobowitz
Augusta Weissman Jacobowitz, 99, of Manorville, NY, died Aug. 5, 2016. She was born in New York City.
Mrs. Jacobowitz worked as a hair dresser after graduating from high school and, after the death of her first husband in 1949, at Macy’s department store. She later worked as a bookkeeper, at a bank, and, before retiring at 90, as a librarian’s assistant.
Predeceased by her first husband, Milton Meixler, and her second husband, Isadore Jacobowitz, she is survived by two sons, Bill Jacobowitz and Lewis Meixler; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held in Long Island, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
