Arthur Kragen

Arthur Kragen, 90, of South Orange died Oct. 7, 2011. Born in New York City, he lived in South Orange for 58 years.

Dr. Kragen was an obstetrician/gynecologist in private practice in East Orange for many years before retiring.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his medical degree from New York University Medical School.

He served in the U. S. Army Medical Corps during World War II.

Predeceased by his former wife, Suzanne (Mendes), he is survived by his wife, Miriam Kragen; three sons, Robert of Roosevelt, John of Canada, and William of Rye, NH; his daughter, Patricia of Clifton; a sister, Eleanor Kovall of Cranbury; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 9 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
