Arnold Saffer

Arnold J. Saffer, 90, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Jan. 8, 2014. Born in Newark, he also lived in Maplewood and West Orange before moving 25 years ago to Boynton Beach.

Mr. Saffer was a partner in the family business, Saffer Simon, a candy distributorship in Newark.

He attended Franklin and Marshall College.

He served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.

He enjoyed photography and created a darkroom where he developed his own photos. He was also an avid golfer.

Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor, he is survived by his daughter, Judy of Riverdale; his son, Jeff (Susan) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; a sister, Doris Okin of Boynton Beach; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 13 with arrangements by Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach.
