Arnold Ehrich

Arnold M. Ehrich, 86, of Cranford died Dec. 12, 2014. Born in Newark, he lived there before moving to Cranford 52 years ago.

Mr. Ehrich was a systems analyst for The New York Times before retiring 21 years ago.

A graduate of Weequahic High School in Newark, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Rutgers University, Newark. He played baseball for both Weequahic and Rutgers. 

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. 

A member of the men’s club of Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim in Cranford, he also served as a volunteer for Cranford High School’s intergenerational program with students. 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ramona (Wachtel); his son, Bruce (Rhonda) of Marlboro; his daughter, Jody (Stewart) Levy of Princeton; a sister, Sonia Rosenberg of South Orange; and four grandchildren. 

Services were held Dec. 15 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
